SUMMARY:
Provide strategic and tactical direction the corporate commission's technology enterprise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
- Evaluates, recommends, leads implementation and support for the following IT functions:
- Hardware selection
- 1000+ workstations & laptops
- 1400+ users
- Servers
- 2 data centers
- Virtual servers
- Storage Area Network
- Networking equipment;
- WAN ? routers, firewalls
- LAN ? switches, access points
- Data security
- Virus protection
- Operating systems
- Servers
- Workstation/Desktop
- Image creation
- Low voltage cabling
- Phone and V-mail systems
- Infrastructure performance
- Hire, develop and manage infrastructure support staff
- 6-8 Associates
- Multiple locations
- Grade level up to E9
- Budgeting and expenditures for enterprise infrastructure
- Capital
- Operating expenses
- Develops and implements appropriate disaster recovery/avoidance plans for the infrastructure.
- Insure appropriate infrastructure documentation is established and maintained.
- Proactively communicate infrastructure quality, performance and functional issues and capabilities.
- Effectively communication technical material to non technical individuals.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all infrastructure components; including architecture, administration, usage and enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned to support the organization's productivity and service standards.
- Evaluate, recommend and participate in contract negotiations with infrastructure vendors.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years experience network administration
- At least 3 years in a 500+ user, multi-site infrastructure
- Minimum 2 years experience of supervision or project management
- Minimum 2 years of telecom experience
- Must possess superior computer skills, and be proficient in a variety of operating, networking and support systems currently in use by the company.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certified or equivalent experience in at least three of the following:
- Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft Server Operating System
- Microsoft Exchange
- Nortel or Cisco Networking
- Nortel or similar phone system
- EMC SAN
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to secure appropriate licensing from the gaming commission.
- Mille Lacs Band Member preference.
- Must be able to pass the Corporate Commission Alcohol & Drug pre-screen.
