SUMMARY:
Responsible for the successful overall administration of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), functions including but not limited to analyze work process design and flow to improve processes and using the tools within the Human Resource Information System to enhance productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Directs the integration of human resource processes through system functionality including HRIS database, timekeeping and electronic file storage systems.
- Solicit feedback and identify overall needs of HRIS end users.
- Prepare and distribute timely and appropriate HRIS communications.
- Act as a liaison between the HRIS and IT group. Participate in the testing of new reports, processes, etc. and provide testing results to appropriate resources.
- Assist management to identify and recommend solutions to enhance overall property HRIS solutions and systems.
- Develop procedures to maintain HRIS data integrity including defining user access limits and security controls.
- Responsible to ensure HRIS processes and policies are consistently maintained according to tribal and federal rules and regulations, including but not limited to, HR practices and policies, Benefits, Compensation, EEO Reporting, and Recruiting.
- Develop and conduct in-house HRIS training programs to end-users. Develop and maintain up-to-date end user training manuals and materials.
- Analyze HRIS database and recommend modules not being utilized and how overall property may benefit to ensure existing technology is utilized to fullest potential.
- Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other Human Resource staff on special projects.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Associate of Arts Degree in computer related field and/or five (5) years of related Human Resources Information Systems experience required and/or equivalent combination of education and job related experience required.
- Including five (5) years computer experience working with a human resources data base/reporting system required.
- Overall understanding of Human Resources role and function.
- Strong organizational, time management and communications skills.
- Must have excellent communication, organization and analytical skills.
- Computer literate in appropriate software.
- Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
- Must be able to pass a company drug and alcohol screen.
- American Indian and Mille Lacs Band Member preference will be followed in filling this position.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for defining strategic direction and implementing business opportunities where technology can make the Corporate Commission of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe a leader in the industry. In a collaborative manner with all business units, directs the Information Technology (IT) function and leads the IT group. Responsible for development and management budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Implement the vision and strategic plan for the technology function of the Corporate Commission businesses that supports the organizations overall strategic direction.
- As part of the executive team, serve as the business technology leader for the Corporate Commission, focusing on business growth, revenue generation, and cost containment through the IT function by attending and participating in the strategic goals and future planning sessions of the Corporate Businesses.
- Collaboratively work with the Corporate Commission businesses leaders to maximize IT Strategic direction and measure effectiveness of existing IT systems to ensure technology is utilized to maximum potential.
- Develop the IT policy, guidelines and service standards for the IT environment in order to optimize the IT investment and resources.
- Oversee the Corporate Commission’s IT architecture and standards to ensure effective, efficient and secure operations of all IT systems through focusing on optimal security, stability, support and utilization.
- Serve as liaison between IT and all other business unit leaders, involving all shareholders in IT investment decisions and prioritization of technological initiatives by evaluating strategic goals and objectives to ensure that they support property needs.
- Analyze and approve all IT business requirements presented by the Corporate Commission and its business units, and review all hardware and software evaluations prior to implementation of any technical solutions.
- Responsible for system implementation and on-going utilization analysis.
- Create documentation of department’s infrastructure and processes to allow for continuity.
- Coordinates an effective structure for the IT team; ensures adequate staffing levels are achieved and maintained; assist applicants in the selection process by interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, motivating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Associates as deemed necessary.
- Direct all IT staff in a manner that optimizes customer and guest services.
- Ensures the strictest levels of security, system integrity and confidentiality are achieved and maintained within the IT systems used by Corporate Commission businesses.
- Ensure that IT operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), Detailed Gaming Regulations, etc.
- Routinely inspects all IT systems to determine potential trouble areas and ensure integrity of data and effective functioning of network operating system.
- Communicates discrepancies to appropriate Corporate Commission businesses; ensure proper resolution is achieved to alleviate potential risk that may compromise the integrity of IT systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
- A minimum of ten (10) years experience developing, implementing and providing direction to an efficiently operating IT function.
- Minimum of three (3) years supporting network operating systems required.
- Minimum of six (6) years progressive supervisory experience managing projects or functions and department budgets required.
- OR An equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Must possess and demonstrate superior computer skills.
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Must be computer literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
- Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
- Band and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process
